Itinerary

The trip starts this morning with a pick up from a central hotel in Perth. We will then drive towards Albany. We drive out through Perth’s surrounding National Parks and State Forests, and inland through small towns. We'll stop for morning tea and lunch along the way, before arriving in Albany in the early afternoon. We'll collect our bikes and take them out for a test ride, cycling between Albany and Torbay. This cycle is mostly flat, with a few hills. Overnight: Albany.

Meals:  L,D

Today we head out for our first full day of cycling, starting with a transfer back out to Torbay. We will cycle on a well-graded track, with undulating hills taking us through the forest landscape and passing coastal vegetation. You'll also enjoy following the Denmark River in parts, and be able to glimpse views of the coast. Today is our longest cycle day but there are options to shorten the day with several opt out points along the way. We finish the day in the town of Denmark where we will stay for the next three nights. Overnight: Denmark.

Today's cycle starts on a scenic trail passing large sand dunes and continuing to Green's Pool, renowned as one of WA's most beautiful beaches with its sloping rock formations, crystal-clear water, and sheltered pools. From Green's Pool there is a long uphill section as we make our way to Mout Shadforth. Your efforts will then be rewarded with a long downhill to Scotsdale Road. The cycling today is partly along the coastline and then through picturesque farmland. At the end of the cycle we will drive back to Denmark. Overnight: Denmark.

Meals:  B,L,D

A transfer this morning brings the group back to Scotsdale Road to continue cycling. We head into the tall towering trees of the National Park as we weave through the forest and past farmland. There are a few short, challenging sections today which but it will feel very achievable with a boost of battery power from the bikes. There are a few options to shorten the ride if needed. At the end of the day we will drive back to our last night in Denmark. Overnight: Denmark.

Meals:  B,L,D

Today we are heading towards Walpole. After breakfast we will drive to Middle Rd/Trent Rd to begin the cycle for today. We spend the majority of the day riding in the Walpole-Nornalup National Park, cycling through Tingle Forest and along the Frankland River. Our scenic ride will also take us past Mount Romance. The cycling is undulating with a mix of terrain. We end the day in Walpole for our last night and dinner together. Overnight: Walpole.

Meals:  B,L,D

Our last day together wouldn't be complete without one last cycle. A short ride this morning with a few challenges and spectacular scenery as a reward. The cycle today will give us magnificent views of the expansive Nornalup Inlet at Coalmine Beach; which is memorable way to end our time together. There will be time to enjoy a hot shower and our final lunch together before our transfer back to Perth. We expect to arrive in Perth by 5pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

We leave Perth at 8am on day 1. With an early departure we recommend a night in Perth for those coming from interstate or overseas.

You will typically start your day with a group breakfast between 6:30 - 7:30 am, then hop in the support van to get to the trailhead. We stop regularly for photo opportunities, drink and snack breaks but will always stop after 1.5 - 2 hour ride for a delicious morning tea on the trail. Some days lunch will be brought to us and other days we will find a shady spot with a great view to eat lunch on the trail. The support van is usually close by in the late morning or early afternoon for those ready to rest and relax or the more energetic can push on for some more great riding. In the afternoon there is often spare time where we can check out local points of interest, enjoy an afternoon siesta or go exploring. When everyone has finished riding for the day we head back to the accommodation for a shower, dinner and a few drinks to celebrate a great days riding.

This trip is graded moderate and is suitable for people with good riding fitness. Each day we will be cycling for around three to four hours, not including stops for photos, snacks and lunch.

To join this tour you will need to feel comfortable and familiar with riding in a variety of terrains including gravel roads, small sandy sections and up/down hills. Our guides are experienced mountain bikers who will teach you the skills to ride with confidence if necessary however it will be more enjoyable for you if you already have some familiarity with a mountain bike.

The cycling is varied throughout the trip. There are some hills, some gravelly sections and some narrow trails all of which can be challenging. There is not much in the way of technical riding.

It is your holiday so if you feel like a day off it is not a problem at all. Most days it is also possible to ride a half day if you would prefer.

Of course! If you are electing to bring your own bike it is important that you have a bike fit for purpose. You will need to bring a mountain bike with you.

You can either bring a backpack or put a pannier on the bike. We include pannier hire with the hire bikes.
