Bright Autumn Festival

The Bright Autumn Festival is a ten day celebration of the wonderful autumn colours and autumn produce of the valleys of Victoria’s Alpine High Country. Bright and the surrounding districts are blessed with the perfect climate for magnificent autumn colours.

The planned dates for the festival in 2023 are Friday April 28 2023 to Sunday May 7 2023. The highlight is the Gala Weekend with a market, music in the streets and a grand parade on Saturday 6th May 2023. Other key events of the festival are the Wandi Nut Festival, the Open Gardens, Historical Tours and the Autumn Art Exhibition at the Bright Art Gallery.

Mansfield Lantern Festival

Celebrating the longest night of the year, Mansfield Lantern Festival has evolved into one of the most eagerly anticipated annual events in Victoria’s High Country.

This beautiful event has celebrated the Winter Solstice in Mansfield, at the foot of snow-capped Mt Buller, since 2015. The festival is returning with a fun and packed long weekend program from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 June 2023.

Highlights will include a neon light display, live music, performance artists, exhibitions and buzzing market stalls showcasing the amazing, food, wine, craft beer and spirits produced in and around Mansfield. The weekend celebrations will kick off in spectacular style with a lantern parade and open fires to light up the darkness and ward off the mid-Winter chill.

From tiny beginnings the Mansfield Lantern Festival now regularly attracts more than a thousand festival-goers. Ahead of the event, free lantern-making workshops are available to encourage locals and visitors to get creative and get involved.

Victoria Farmer's Markets

Tallarook Farmer's Markets

The Tallarook Farmer's Market operates on the first Sunday of every month except January, with our Christmas Market held on the third Sunday in December. The market is located at the newly rebuilt Tallarook Mechanics Institute. Our market boasts a variety of authentic locally grown produce from real farmers living in the Goulburn Valley. Seasonal produce includes fruit, vegetables, eggs, bread, mushrooms, cheese, pork, lamb, wine, beer, cider, olives, olive oil, pasta, honey, ferments, cereals, jams, preserves, fudge, pastries, cakes and much more. As well as all the superb local produce there's also beautiful hand made craft items from our local makers. We look forward to seeing you back in the Rook!

Mansfield Farmer's Markets

The Mansfield Farmers Market is a fresh and artisan produce market held year-round in the median strip opposite the Post Office – right in the centre of Mansfield – on the fourth Saturday of the month. Over 30 colourful marquees set up on the grassy median strip right in the middle of town, showcasing the best fresh and artisan produce from the region, such as cheese, sour dough bread, olive oil, free-range meats and eggs and fresh produce. It is held on every 4th Saturday of the month (Feb – Dec) from 8.30am – 1pm.

Myrtleford Farmer's Markets

The Myrtleford Farmers Market is held on the fourth Saturday of each month from at the Piazza, in the heart of Myrtleford in Victoria’s High Country. The market is accredited by the Victorian Farmers Market Association, meaning customers are guaranteed access to quality, freshly harvested produce whilst supporting local farmers and directly putting money back into regional Victorian communities.

Each month the market has a theme aligned to the true seasonality of the region’s produce. This is recognised in cooking workshops, ‘meet the grower’ profiles and even in the catering on market day. Visitors truly connect with the produce and producers of the region by learning, sharing and enjoying a local and ethical food system.

Bright’s Make it, Bake it, Grow it. Market  

A visit to Bright’s Make it, Bake it, Grow it. Market is shopping heaven if you’re looking for something original, something handmade, something special and something local. You’ll find original artworks, wood work, homewares and skincare, as well as gorgeous kids fashion and jewellery by local designers, all guided by our philosophy of “make it, bake it, grow it”.

If you’re a foodie or wine buff, you’ll especially love our market.  Bright is situated in the heart of the Great Alpine Valleys, our own little food bowl! We have a wealth of fresh produce – including fresh nuts, fruit and vegetables, freshly baked breads, olive oil & pasta, wine & ales, locally made cheeses, honey & jams, trout and meats.

And, when you need a break from the shopping, sit back and be entertained by our local performers guaranteed to get you in the groove while enjoying a coffee and some fresh sweet or savoury treats.  Held the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9am until 1pm. Located in Howitt Park by the Ovens River in Bright.

Beechworth Farmer's Markets

The Beechworth Farmers' Market is on the 1st Saturday of the month from 9.00am to 12 noon in the grounds of Christ Church, on the corner of Church and Ford Streets. You'll find super fresh local fruits and vegetables, breads, locally reared meats, cheeses, poultry, seedlings, flowers and herbs. A great way to meet the growers and get to know the surrounding area from paddock to plate.
