Darwin Festival

The Darwin Festival celebrates the multicultural aspects of the Northern Territory lifestyle. The Festival is held over 18 days in the dry season and comprises a series of events including outdoor concerts, workshops, theatre, dance music, comedy, cabaret, film and visual arts. Scheduled for 4-21 August 2022.

Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair

The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair offers a rich exchange of art, culture, and ideas with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from across Australia.

The Fair is unique in that it provides a genuine opportunity to purchase artwork directly from over seventy Indigenous owned community Art Centres, whilst being immersed in an exciting program of traditional dance, workshops, film, fashion and music!

Experience the rich diversity of these beautiful works that have been inspired by the country’s most remote desert and coastal regions, to rural and urban communities. Held between 5-7 August, 2022.

Royal Darwin Show

Held over 5 days and open to the public over 3 days, the Royal Darwin Show attracts around 50,000 visitors each year and is a proud showcase of Territory talent and skills, culture, produce and foods, arts, crafts, animals, live entertainment, competitions and exhibitions. The Royal Darwin Show remains the largest community event of its kind in northern Australia. Occurs in July each year.

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets

The Mindil Market sees the congregation of over 200 unique stalls, ranging from food stalls offering incredible local and international cuisine to an array of arts, crafts and services stalls. The Market also supports and provides opportunity to Darwin and regional NT artists from all genres of creative and performing arts to showcase their talent. The combination of amazing food, arts and culture, set to the backdrop of the spectacular sunset, creates an electric atmosphere.

Boasting over 60 food stalls; taste local delicacies such as Barramundi, Kangaroo & Crocodile or indulge in international cuisines from around the world, there’s something for everyone. Enjoy a picnic dinner on the beach while experiencing a spectacular tropical sunset or try the VIP sunset lounge for a private premium market experience.

Afterwards, browse the endless collection of arts, crafts and services which include artists, jewellers, masseurs, leatherworkers, tarot readers, tailors and much more. Come and soak up the atmosphere and flavours of the iconic Mindil Beach Sunset Market and experience first hand what all the fuss is about. The Mindil Beach Sunset Markets is open from late April until late October. Operating every Thursday & Sunday - 4pm until 9pm.
