If you have been in touch with the Australian Cycle Tours team over the phone or email, chances are you've already met with Jo. 

 

Like all of us who work for Australian Cycle Tours (and the wider World Expeditions Travel Group), Jo's always had a love for travel, particularly adventure travel. She's had the travel bug running through her veins from a young age, back when she was always dreaming of the far flung places she could explore.

 

 

Jo's made those dreams a reality and she now has a vast repertoire of travel experiences. She's been lucky to have had the opportunity of trekking through the Indian Himalayas, the Karakoram Mountains in Pakistan, and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. In Australia, she's been white-water rafting down the Franklin River in Tasmania.

 

 

Her cycling experience is on an epic scale too. Jo has accomplished two cycling feats: she cycled from Istanbul to Beijing after being inspired by other travellers, and a few years later returned to Beijing, this time from Singapore to Beijing via Indochina. If you're thinking she must have been a fit and established cyclist before doing this, think again: Jo hadn't really done much cycling before taking on that incredible journey. It just goes to show that anything is possible if you put your mind to it (and are able to overcome saddle soreness!).

 

 

Besides her personal travel credentials, she also has a strong career in the travel industry. She's previously worked for Tourism Australia and the South Australian Tourism Commission, and has lived abroad in London and Vancouver.

After living in Vancouver for 10 years, Jo now resides in Adelaide with her husband and daughter. She's lucky enough to be able to cycle the Clare Valley whenever she feels like it.
